It my birthday and it's Friday AND I'm off work. So let's sleep in then getup and slowly get ready to go to KY. We left about 11 and hit all kinds of traffic. We were going to go to Granny Gastineau's but the traffic put us to far behind. We were trying to time it right for dad had been doing the chemo treatment all day and was looking to get home around 5 we arrived around 6. Rhonda came over and we had a nice visit with her. My dad look great and he stayed up with us until 9:30. But by then we were all tired and so we all went to bed.

It is the day before my birthday and it's looking good. Work is easing up, no major happenings this week, and it lloks like they are going to give us a day off for the long weekend last week. That works out perfect being that my birthday is tomorrow and father's day is Sunday. Since we are going to be out of town we decided to go over to Sherry's mom and celebrate father's day and my birthday. We all pitched in and got Harold a Cracker barrell rocking chair. Sherry brought my present over to open and if she hadn't gone out and bought me a Netbook! The very one I'm writing this blog on. I was very excited for it was the exact one I wanted and even after looking at it I couldn't bring myself to buy so if was nice to have some help. Harold and I got it all setup the we watch a movie there "The boy who could fly" and then at about midnight we went to get Hannah from the airport. They had a very good trip. We took Icus home and then once we got home we stayed up even more listening to all the stories and looking at pictures.

Yeah Sunday is here again. We got up early and boy did I feel in a fog from staying up late but seriously I was looking forward to worship. We got there and I was able to get some coffee in me while the kids ate breakfast and prepared themselves to start the worship mood for the congregation. Tim did a great job. He dressed up and spoke on God's holiness from Isaiah's point of view. After service and class we came home only long enough to eat and then we went to Sherry's mom for a devotional before Tanner's baseball tournament game. It was good to see Larry Chavarian (from the Co-op) at the ball field. We cam back to Shirley's house and took a walk (well Graeme and I rode bikes) and then hope to do some math with Chelsea.

Now my schedule is really messed up. I got up at 8 to check jobs from last night and finish up some unfinished things from last night/morning. Sherry was very positive even though I'm practically blowing the entire weekend with my work. Sherry was needing some quality time and she usually walks in the morning so although I had worked most of the morning away we went waling around 11. Boy was it hot and we walked 2.6 miles. Sherry had gone shopping yesterday and wanted to show me all the things she bought so I got a personal beauty pagaent. After the "show" I fell asleep for 5 hours only to wake to have more things to fix at work. So once again I was up late this time till 1:30 AM. With success however, finding a solution and planning to fix tomorrow.

This is going to be a very long day (I actually had no idea). We were deploying one of the biggest if not the biggest production build that I have ever done. We used the rest of the day in preparation and then actual deployment started at 7 PM. Long story short it was 3 AM before I got home. Chelsea spent another night at Natalie's and Graeme went to Sean's birthday party so I told Sherry to come shop at Cool springs and see me. So she came to Cool Springs and went shopping and found a great sale at JCPenny's. She got a few thing for her and for me and then came by to visit while I worked and while she wait til time to go pick up Graeme. I thought I was nearly finished but we kept running into things that were not quite right yet. I left about 2:30 am and crashed.

That's right you guessed it, it is up and off to the airport (getting up at 3:30). It was an unusually and maybe even suprisingly fun family adventure. Hannah seemed in good hands and ready for the experience.

Last night of VBS. It was tremendous sucess. I can tell by the fact that "it went so fast". It was good to see David Young again. It was like pulling teeth to get this picture but it was all I could get. Now that all that is over we must get ready for our next big adventure - Hannah going to Hondurous! She must be at the airport at 4:30 AM! We came home and got the last few items for her trip together (passport and backpack) and went to bed. Sam Litton came over to spend the night. I gave him a good tour of the worm farm. Sam said he would get up with us to go see Hannah off at the airport- we'll see. Chelsea went out with a bunch from the youth group to see the movie "Up". Ema brought Chelsea home and she came in the room and seemed to really enjoy the movie and the opportunity to be with her friends. She doesn't have to work tomorrow, which should make it easier planning our day.

Today started off wonderful; The kids got themselves up (well Chelsea may have had some prompting but was in a good mood about it). Hannah is getting some good experience working at HCA, namely "how to work with difficult people". Luckily is is not her manager but a co-worker. VBS is going stong and the kids really seem to like it. David Young is doing a great job with the Adult class. Tonight he ended talking about his adventure outside, inside the April tornado. Wow what a story. I came on home quickly after returning Harolds tools he lent us for fixing up Sherry's room and getting gas at my favorit gas station (the one with no ethanol in their gas). I fed the worms and then logged in to finish researching a problem affecting some of our jobs at work.

Although I usually get to work from home on Monday's, lately they have asked us to come in to work. With the big production build Friday and Brad going to be out of town Wed-Fri I thought it extra necessary to come in to work. It was nice having the car at lunch again. I took a nice break to Wal-mart and got some hanging folders to do some more organizing in the garage (all my warranties and manuals). I was late getting to VBS but it worked out ok because I brought my Video camera and video'd Sherry's lesson and the skit Hannah was in. I let Chelsea drive to the Wilson's house for the girls "Oasis" Bible study and swim. It makes us a little nervous her being out driving late at night, but I think she will do fine. The worms ate a pound today!

June! My favorite month of worship. Last year and this year we combined our services for worship. I call it my father's day and birthday present from the church. It really is good. The youth gets there early for breakfast and then they sit up front and sing just before services. After worship we had a combined
bible class. After class we all went home to eat and then everyone except me headed back to the church to do last minute touches on the room and to practice their skits. I stayed home and cleaned the (much needed) garage. Energy levels were high when I arrived at church tonight for the 1st night of VBS. The adult teacher was David Young from North Boulevard. He had a great lesson on Stronger Families... Came home and like a trouper Chelsea did a couple of lessons of math.

Today Graeme and I were going to get up real early and hit the boat docs and fishing sites to sell some worms. We'll we didn't get up early but we did try to hit some hot spot for some quick sales. No such thing! We were a bit bummed, especially me, I kind of moped around all day. While we were gone the girls went to Cool Springs to do a bit of shopping (primarily to get some needed stuff for Hannah's Hondurous Trip). But there wasn't much time for that because we had to be at the church for the VBS carnival kick-off. Our life group was doing face painting and tatoos. Aterwards Chelsea and I tried again to get math back on track. I'm feeling the stress of not being organized. maybe tomorrow I'll have some time.

Friday, June 5, 2009

Ahh Friday is here! I drove Chelsea to work today so that I could run some erronds during lunch. I finally sent my Sky Scount back to Celestron so that they could send me a new one that was aligned correctly. We are gearing up for a big week. We will be deploying all our work from the past few months to production. I left work early to pick Chelsea up from work. Boy was I tired (I let her drive the rest of the way home). She was excited for it was pay day and she gets paid well. We came home, ate and then left for the Church to pick up Sherry and then we (minus Hannah) when to the soccor park in Smyrna to watch Madagasscar 2. Hannah and her friends worked on the VBS room a little longer and then came to the house and made t-shirts for VBS. I tried to get skype working so I could talk to Zane in Greece.

Haven was still our guest today and Sherry stayed home all day. Graeme and I put the worms in the fridge and then we watch a movie "7 pounds" with Will SMith. It was realy weird and hard to follow at first. The best part was that Haven layed on my chest the whole movie and slept.

Tired after a night of Auto repairs but atleast no major insidents today. Sherry spend the day at Church so after work and a quick trip by the house Chelsea and I went to the church. Sherry's room is really looking great. Even though she has been busy with that she volunteered to watch Haven (the Logue's youngest) while Ryan was having surgery. For class Sherry and I joing another marriage class that was using the book on boundaries in marriage. The couples are fun and the book is tremendous.

I think I have decided that the worms are getting too warm. After a convincing "no" from Sherry (in bringing them in doors), we started looking to put them in the garage refridgerator.

Like I say this whole week is going to be crazy.  Sherry spending a tremendous amount of time at church with VBS and pulling a double shift at home with household stuff.  Graeme made my day because he mowed the yard.  Hannah left for work early and loved it because she didn't have to sit in traffic.  She also got to leave early but there must have been some kind of wreck because she ran into traffic getting on to 440.  Now Chelsea is another story.  Her day start with a bang... literally.  She wanted to leave early to get to the Doran's a little sooner and as she backed out of the garage (around the popup) the front of the car hit the side of the wall, knocking over stuff and getting a chair hung in the bumper.  The damage wasn't really too bad but she was rattled a bit.  Then on the way to work someone pulled out into her lane almost causing a wreck with her and the traffic in the other lane.  And then finally on her way back from babysitting she was turning around and the front of the car hit a post (just after the front windshield got fixed from the golfball attack) knocking the bumper practically off and bending the light and stuff.  I rode with March to pick her up and drove home with the bumper in the back seat.  I stayed up late getting it drivable again.

Hannah started to work for her second summer internship at HCA. She is working in the Finance and Administration department in Building 2. It is scary seeing two of your kids driving off to work but we feel blessed that they have these opportunities. It is very hard for kids there age to get jobs this summer and especially these good of jobs. It was very busy after work. Sherry needed me to build a "tree" for here VBS room and Chelsea wanted to go to "Oasis" (a girls bible study lead by our new intern - Ema). It was 10pm before we got all got home. I checked the worms and then called it a day.
